Insights from the Bible (A short short)

The entire bible is relevant to our lives, but sometimes when you read the Book of Acts in particular, you can’t help but think that it was the first New Testament drama series. I mean “My Word”. Men getting struck blind and deaf for not obeying God. An angel striking down a man in an instant for choosing people’s acceptance over giving God glory. Magicians being called out as the unholy annoyance they are. Men speaking with unflinching boldness and fiery faith. Souls being won by the drones, some by simple talk and some after dramatic displays of God’s power. Jealous and scared governments punishing people with extreme cruelty for made up crimes. The faithful always finding refuge and persisting. Hot debates even among them; commotion in the inner circle. And still, miracles and more miracles!
Drama! Drama! Drama! But this is better than any cable series. It almost makes you miss the “stay tuned for another episode...” at the end of every chapter. Yes indeed! Apart from being gripping, unlike a bunch of what our eyes may gaze upon on a flat screen these days, the bible really does read like an instruction manual to ground the mind, body and soul, as it mirrors human behaviour even today. At intervals, you just want to shout “You see. This explains it all.” as you wait in the wings for the next “wow” moment to hit.
How do you feel about it?
